Tarangire National Park

What to See: Known for its massive herds of elephants and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s hidden gems. During the dry season, wildlife congregates around the Tarangire River, attracting zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and various predators, including lions and leopards.

Experience to Expect: Tarangire offers a quieter, less crowded safari experience compared to other northern parks. The park’s landscape is characterized by vast, golden savannahs dotted with ancient baobab trees. You can expect close encounters with large elephant herds, as well as great birdwatching, with over 500 species recorded.
